Meet the RVP Team

  • Bruce R Wiebe

    President and CEO

Hello, fellow farmers! My name is Bruce R Wiebe, and I want to take a moment to share a bit about myself and why I’m passionate about helping you thrive in today’s challenging agricultural landscape.

I grew up on a 1,000-acre farm in rural Saskatchewan during the 1980s—times that were tough, to say the least. The markets were depressed, but through it all, my father taught me the value of hard work and unwavering faith. Values that are still held with my brothers and myself.

We always had food on the table, and our home was a welcoming place for family, neighbors and traveling pastors alike. Those meals shared around our table instilled in me a sense of community that I carry with me to this day.

As the youngest of three sons, I quickly realized there wouldn’t be much land left for me to farm. I was looking for stability, so I took a leap and pursued geology. Boy, was I wrong! The ups and downs I experienced in this field are almost as wild as a season of unpredictable weather on the farm. Now, looking back, I realize what a true blessing it was to be raised in that hardworking environment.

I understand the struggles of small family farms; I’ve lived it! That’s why I’m excited to support our farming community through Rattle Valley Products. We also would like to support the community through our send a kid to camp program. This program will be run separate from the fertilizer department. No information gathered through this program will be used for marketing purposes. In our opinion, that is a cheap marketing tactic.

We were created to address the challenges you face, especially when dealing with large corporations that supply potash fertilizer. Those corporations often inflate prices and complicate the supply chain with multiple hands—3 to 5+—We’re changing that. We’re all about cutting out the middlemen and connecting directly with you.

At Rattle Valley, it’s all about the relationships: the potash mine, Rattle Valley, and you, the farmer. We all have a vested interest in making this work. As the CEO of the potash mine wisely said: when farmers are doing well, we all thrive. When you hurt, we feel it too. That’s why our central theme is: We Are All in This Together. It’s not just a slogan; it’s our ethos, guiding every decision we make.

We’re also committed to ensuring our products are environmentally responsible. We’re working hard to obtain OMRI approval for all of our Products. We want you to know that even though there may be cheaper options out there, we prioritize values that protect our land and support our communities. However, we are striving to find solutions that will ensure both: high quality product at the cheapest price.

And let me add a touch of humor here: unfortunately, while my father managed to keep his hair through the tough times, I seem to have lost mine! But if there’s one thing I’ve gained, it’s a deep understanding of what it means to face challenges head-on and the importance of supporting one another.

We believe in building relationships of mutual benefit and trust along a short supply chain, ensuring that we’re not just doing business, but building a community. Together, we can overcome the hurdles that stand in our way and cultivate a brighter future for all of us.

So, if you’re tired of feeling at the mercy of those big corporations and want to reclaim control over your farming journey, let’s talk! We’re here for you, and we’re all in this together.

    Thank you!

  • Craig Evans

    Director of Logistics Management

I was born in Winnipeg Mb, where I lived until I was 12 years old. That is when my Father was transferred to Vancouver BC with CP Rail— now CPKC. Later, when CP decided to relocate to Calgary AB I decided to follow along and see what type of journey this city had in store for me.

After doing a number of things including Horticulture, Landscaping, Photography and traveling the world I too found myself in a position with the Rail Road.

My Grandfather worked for the Railway, my Father spent over 35 years with CP and I spent nearly 20 years with the company. In my time there I developed a passion for the movement of product and meeting customers needs while maintaining integrity, service and safety.

I’ve worked through some very challenging situations and have always been dedicated to the best outcome for my clients.

I know the roadblocks that can happen in the transportation of goods across international boundaries. So, when Rattle Valley approached me about becoming part of this organization I couldn’t resist.

I believe in building strong relationships with our carriers and more importantly with our customers.

I am dedicated to creating an organized, successful and efficient business model that benefits our clients. I am also dedicated to maintaining efficiency and passing those assets on to our customers and getting your product to where it needs to be in the most cost effective manor.

  • Ryan McMillan

    Director of Communications

I was born and raised in Calgary AB, though my roots go back to the farm. My mom and dad both grew up on the farm, and they ran a feedlot after they got married. When my parents lost everything they moved the family West to look for a new life. My dad left the farm, but the farm never left him— his work ethic and sense of humor and independent self-reliance was passed on to my sister and me.

I am a photographer/ videographer by trade. However, while being married with kids, I returned to university and completed a Bachelor of Communications/ Digital Media Degree with a minor in Marketing. Why those disciplines? Because I believe that every person, business, charity and organization has to be able to communicate effectively.

I have worked in high stakes environments and built brands with some amazing entrepreneurs. Building brands and developing communications systems that serve bigger narratives is what I love to do. I work on projects I believe in and with people I respect. Period. Rattle Valley Products is, in essence, the culmination of all of this.

I’m a tech guy and I love good narratives with tangible results. So, when Bruce asked me to come on board to help develop Rattle Valley how could I say “no”? We are talking about merging advances in technology that drive growth without causing environmental damage. Not only that, but it is essential to the agricultural industry of North America. This is what I love to do!
